Selling shows

During an exciting sojourn in the Capital recently I decided to wander down to the art dealing mecca that is Cork Street. This is a great place to check out the national and international market for what people are buying in the art world, and for how much. As it was a Saturday in August it wasn't the busiest time of year but I did happen to stumble upon a great show of emerging artists called the Cork Street Open Exhibition.

This show helps artists to showcase and sell their work to a dedicated art buying audience whilst supporting a selected charity. The quality and standard of the work was really good and it made me consider applying next year. However, whilst perusing the complimentary catalogue I'd been given, I realised I might not have to wait that long after all. It seems they're organising another show in January. This time not an open submission but around the theme of erotic art. Again, this is open to personal interpretation but I thought that these collages, or perhaps others like them would be ideal.
