University of Incidental Knowledge

I'm involved in a brand new project called University of Incidental Knowledge, a curatorial collaboration initiated by artist/curator Alice Bradshaw. The project is a fun way of experimenting with engagement and education models, whilst hopefully demystifying art practice to wider audiences.

Artists involved in the project have taken tutor roles to brief participants on their tasks for the year. But as the model subverts the usual top-down hierarchy, the students will in fact be teaching the tutors by gathering knowledge for their chosen subject.

Courses offered for the coming year include: Diploma in Artwank, BA (Hons) Avant Garde, BA (Hons) Comedy, BA (Hons) Cut 'n' Paste, BA (Hons) Film, BA (Hons) Foreign Language, MPhil Mistakes, NVQ Pedantics and BSc Social Media. Course leaders are myself, Debi Holbrook, Bob Milner, Duncan Lister, Sparrow+Castice, Vanessa Haley and Fundada.
